What we do

Structured, compliant data ready for the day one of operation

DEW delivers comprehensive asset data to optimise facility management, creating structured and compliant COBie, NRM and Uniclass deliverables that facilitate seamless handovers rather than retrofitted, last-minute data dumps.

Asset data is authored throughout the build stage and linked with your operational tools to support ongoing facility maintenance, so your FM team receives clean, structured data from day one rather than added retrospectively at handover.

We provide insights and updates to maintain asset performance over time, supporting lifecycle management long after practical completion.

What is COBie and do we need it?

COBie is the industry-standard way of handing over building asset information – things like equipment details, warranties, spare parts and maintenance schedules – in a structured format that's kept separate from the 3D model geometry itself. It grew out of UK government BIM policy and is now built into how ISO 19650 projects are expected to exchange non-graphical data. Whether you specifically need it comes down to your project's Employer's Information Requirements: public sector or ISO 19650-compliant projects will very likely mandate it, and even where it's optional, it makes the data your facilities team inherits far more usable.

Any mainstream platform. We've delivered asset data into CAFM systems including IBM Maximo, Micad, Archibus, Concerto and MRI Evolution, and into handover platforms such as Dalux. Because our deliverables follow the COBie, NRM and Uniclass standards, they're structured to import cleanly into any modern CAFM or IWMS – and we work with your FM operator early to agree exactly what the destination system needs, so handover data drops straight in.

From the start of the build stage – not at handover. Asset data authored progressively throughout construction is checked, complete, and cheap to maintain; data compiled retrospectively in the final weeks is expensive, error-prone, and usually late. It's the single biggest factor in whether your FM team gets usable data on day one.

Yes. A digital twin starts with exactly what we produce: a coordinated, data-rich model linked to structured asset information. We can deliver the foundation – the Asset Information Model with COBie, NRM and Uniclass data – and connect it with your operational systems so the model stays a live, useful representation of the building rather than a static handover file.

Not a problem – it's a common starting point for existing estates. Our reality capture team can laser scan the building to create an accurate as-built model, and we then structure the asset data on top of it. You end up with the same quality of information a new-build handover would produce, for a building that's been operating for decades.

Yes. Asset data isn't a one-off deliverable at handover – we provide ongoing insights and updates to help maintain asset performance over the building's lifecycle, so the data stays useful for facilities management well beyond practical completion.
